最近では美術の国際的なフェスティバルの開催地としても知られているタイ北部の古都チェンマイ。そのチェンマイで美術拠点の中核として活動してきた「C.A.Pスタジオ チェンマイ アートオンペーパー」の創設20周年を記念して、タイ国大使館の後援のもとに、『チェンマイ美術版画 C.A.Pスタジオ作品展』を開催する運びとなりました。
C.A.Pスタジオは2003年にタイのアーティストKitikong Tilokwattanotani によって設立された版画専門の工房です。タイ国内はもとより、オーストラリア、アメリカ、カナダ、日本など国際的なアーティストが描くオリジナル作品を伝統的なエッチングや木版印刷技術の専門家が一枚一枚丁寧にダイレクト版画制作します。
今回の展覧会では、この工房で生まれた23名の作家の作品103枚が展示されます。繊細で多色印刷技術がひかるカラーグラディーション作品も多数出展されます。この機会にタイ美術版画の世界をじっくりとご覧ください。
